Match Canal

Our Match Canal is an ideal starter lake, giving children plenty of experience of catching small fish. Club groups and other similar organisations are welcome by prior arrangement.

Our 24 peg purpose built match Canal opened in 2005. The Canal is stocked with home-grown Carp to 10lb, numerous F1’s, Bream, Skimmers, Roach, Perch, Rudd and Tench. We take bookings from clubs and organisations who wish to book their own matches.

Match bags regularly exceed 40lb with the current record sat at a whopping 191lb and when not booked out for matches, individuals can fish the Match Canal on a day ticket and sample the exciting sport it has to offer.

With 24 pegs situated in a staggered / herringbone formation, the Match Canal is 20m wide with a uniform depth of 5ft throughout. As a strictly float only venue, fishing the inside line is very productive and a large mixed bag can be put together on Maggot, whilst meat or corn tends to pick out the larger Carp.
